Schrock appointed to Northwest Tech Institute board

SPRINGDALE — Gov. Asa Hutchinson has appointed Kurt Schrock of Fayetteville to the Northwest Technical Institute Board of Directors.

Schrock’s appointment to the five-member board will expire in 2022. He replaces Les Garrett, owner of Garrett Tire and Auto Center.

Schrock is the director of Human Resources Operations at Tyson Foods.

Northwest Technical Institute’s main campus is in Springdale. It has been open since 1975.

Two streets closed in Bentonville

BENTONVILLE — Delwhite Drive will be closed between Southeast Eighth Street and Moberly Lane until 6 p.m. Sept. 25 while a new sewer line is installed, according to a news release.

Southeast Eighth Street will be closed from Southeast D and Southeast E streets until 6 p.m. Oct. 2 for a new water line crossing.
