Symposium targets forest
The fifth annual Beaver Lake Watershed Symposium will be held from 9:30 a.m.to 3:30 p.m. Friday at the Elkins Community Building, 162 Doolin Drive in Elkins. The program, “Focus on the Forest,” will present topics supporting the connection between healthy managed forests and clean drinking water.
The program is free and includes lunch, but reservations are required.

Vaughan reunion set
The family of Addison and Susan Vaughan will hold a reunion beginning at noon Oct. 1 at the Elm Springs Community Building. Everyone is asked to bring a dish for a potluck.

Class of 1967 reunion set
The Rogers High School class of 1967 will hold its 50th reunion from 6 to 10 p.m. Oct. 7 at Lost Springs Golf and Athletic Club, 2805 S. 22nd St.in Rogers. There is a $25 charge per person, which includes a catered meal, soft drinks, band and dancing. There will be class pictures taken.

Schoolhouse offers tour
The Rocky Branch School is hosting a drop-in tour at the Rocky Branch Schoolhouse, located on Larue Road, next to the Rocky Branch fire station, from 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 7 after the Rogers High School reunion.
The annual Rocky Branch School and Bland family reunions will be at noon Oct. 8 at the school; bring a dish for a potluck lunch.

Scholarships to be available
The Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Northwest Arkansas works to help low income single-parent families in Carroll, Madison and Washington counties become financially stable and independent. Through community support, SPSF NWA provides direct financial assistance to single parents who are pursuing a career-related course of study in order to gain sufficient employment to meet the basic needs of their families. Supportive programs are also available to help ensure the success of our recipients.
The Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Northwest Arkansas is now accepting applications for scholarships for the spring 2018 academic semester. The deadline to apply is Oct. 15. A complete list of eligibility requirements and qualified programs is listed on the organizations website.
Pilot Arts hosting auditions
Fayetteville’s Pilot Arts, a theater company that focuses on musical theater, is hosting auditions for their production of Footloose which runs Nov. 9-11. Auditions will be from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Monday and from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Drake Field’s community room, 4500 S. School Ave.in Fayetteville) and are open from ages 9 to adult. An accompanist will be provided, so bring sheet music and be prepared to sing approximately 32 bars and read from the script.

The Springdale High School class of 1971 will hold a Homecoming Get-Together from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Oct. 20 at the Elks Lodge in Fayetteville with dinner and drinks.
