Beaver Lake

High muddy water has slowed fishing activity.

John Newlun at Hook, Line and Sinker in Rogers said fishing conditions are tough, particularly south of the Arkansas 12 bridge where there is floating debris and muddy water. The clearest water is from Point 4 to the dam.

Anglers report catching smallmouth bass downstream from Point 4. Try grubs or crank baits. Crappie and black bass fishing is slow.

Mike Whitehouse at Hickory Creek Marina reports little fishing activity because of muddy water and debris in the lake.

Beaver tailwater

Lisa Mullins at Beaver Dam Store said walleye are making their spawning run from Table Rock Lake up the White River toward Beaver Dam. Try jerk baits or one-eighth-ounce white jigs.

Arkansas Game and Fish Commission recently stocked rainbow trout and fly fishers report catching good numbers of fish. Try nymphs, midges or micro jigs.

The top lures are small spoons in gold-red or gold-silver. Power Bait is the best bait for trout.

Lake Fayetteville

David Powell at the lake office said crappie are moving into shallow water. Use minnows or jigs four to six feet deep.

Try plastic worms or crank baits for black bass.

Lake Sequoyah

Mike McBride at the lake bait shop said snagging for spoonbills is good below the Lake Sequoyah dam. The lake is muddy, but catfish are biting. All other species are slow.

Swepco Lake

Kenny Stroud in Siloam Springs said black bass are biting all types of soft plastic lures worked two to 20 feet deep. Spinner baits or square-billed crank baits may also work.

Siloam Springs Lake

Stroud recommends using small jigs or minnows for crappie.

Eastern Oklahoma

Stroud suggests using jerk baits, crank baits, plastic worms or jig and pigs at Lake Eucha to catch black bass.

Bella Vista

Nick Gann at Hook, Line and Sinker in Bella Vista said black bass are biting on all the Bella Vista lakes. Try Alabama rigs, crank baits or jig and pigs.

Use Power Bait or small spoons for trout at Lake Brittany.

Table Rock Lake

Pete Wenners at Pete’s Professional Guide Service said bites from black bass are few, but the ones that bite are good-sized fish.

Use crawdad-colored crank baits, spinner baits or jerk baits in creek arms.
